Film & Video
The medium of film and video has the ability to captivate and inspire many lives. Here I share the visual stories of those who are pursuing their passions. Sometimes the best stories are not spoken, but observed.
In January 2019, some climbing partners and I found ourselves in a winter wonderland, celebrating above 0°F temps after the polar vortex with ice climbing in a magical place! ❄ It began to snow, and the landscape was so beautiful, I couldn't help but try to capture it. I didn't bring my fancy camera with me, but Julie and I were able to get some pretty sweet shots with our phones!
This is a video collaboration I did with Charlotte Montgomery. It was filmed in April, 2019, Here is her description: Winter of 2018/2019 nearly buried us all. Sooo many cold days and frozen nights. It takes a special person to survive the madness that is the North shore of Lake Superior. It is my wish to celebrate this place in spite of its many hardships, and the wonderful, hearty weirdos that make it my home. Thank you so much to Mikayla Haynes of Clyde Fox Creative for recording and shooting this sweet lil vid. Here's a little secret: this video was shot in APRIL. Duluth, you beautiful maddening city Give us your cold and we'll give you our rose Give us your snow and we'll give you our laughter Take our birds but we remember their song...
Water Is Life
I came up with the idea for this little short film after listening to Charlotte Montgomery's song "Water is Life." I wanted to hhighlight the importance and integral role of water in and around the Northern MN area, and the wonder is can inspire. I am so thrilled to have been able to collaborate with Charlotte on this fun little project! Here is the description of the video on her YouTube page: It was a great joy and privilege to be asked by Mikayla Haynes of Clyde Fox Creative to be part of this film project. It features a shortened version of my original song "Water is Life," a declaration we both feel strongly about. It is very important that we keep creating magic, honoring the sacred and standing up to those who commit violent acts against nature. Why do we live here if not for the incredible majesty of this place? For the love of all things beautiful and wildly important, Protect our Waters. We met a very special furry friend along the way...Enjoy.
